Teacher Leadership Project
ECI 508
Students take ownership of their learning when they are trusted to make their own decisions. Choice in literacy activities is a significant motivator for students. I lead a professional development session on the popular "Daily 5" structure of literacy instruction for the staff at my school. I grew more confident as a teacher leader and was able to share my knowledge of this program and the benefits of student choice with my colleagues.
Citizenship Webquest

In this social studies webquest, students were given choices when responding to visual and written text. This allowed students to show their knowledge of the topic in a way that connected to their strengths and preferences.
Action Research: Teaching Metacognitive Strategies to Improve Accuracy and Fluency When Decoding
